- W1528941027 abstract "Background: The traffic accidents had turned endemic, affecting every sectors of society. A descriptive analysis of this social problem is being presented. Methods: A retrospective study of transversal cut was realized between January 2000 to December 2006. The studied group were the patients with traffic accident injuries who were assisted by the Emergency, Traumatology and Orthopaedic unity. Results: There were found 14.927 traffic accident lessons. The most etary group were minors of 25 years old and between 25–39 years old; 80% of male; motorbike (6.147) were the most frequent type; accident origin: 56% capital; 2-4% mortality. Accident fractures: 2.474, orthopaedic trauma (31%), superior extremity (24%) and ankle and foot (18%). Conclusions: Multi-sectorial management and an unified of accidents register are necessary. It is also necessary to have better treatment and movement of the traumatized patient. Priorities must focus on prevention." @default.
