- W1531900591 abstract "We have developed a method for calculating the power absorbed by metallic multilayers in ferromagnetic resonance, for arbitrary directions of the applied magnetic field. This method also permits the calculation of the power absorbed in each layer of a symmetric structure. The calculation is based on the use of Hoffmann’s equations for the continuity of the magnetization at the interfaces between films1 within the approximate formalism for FMR in metals.2 This formalism permits the reduction of the equation of motion for each medium to a pair of quadratic equations in the square of the wave vector, one for the resonant sense of polarization, and one for the non‐resonant sence. The continuity equations are easily written in terms of these polarizations. Different levels of approximation are applied to the boundary value problem for two different cases. When the films are very similar, or the applied field is very strong (high resonat frequencies), one can neglect the non‐resonant polarization and satisfy bo..." @default.
