- W1538966023 abstract "Ce travail concerne l'étude de la modification de charbon activé Chemviron F400 en poudre par divers traitements, sur l'adsorption de molécules organiques. Les traitements sont réalisés à températures elevées ou par l'acide nitrique. Après avoir déterminé quelques propriétés physiques (surface spécifique, porosité) et chimiques (groupements de surface) de ces charbons, des essais d'adsorption ont été réalisés. Les résultats indiquent que les capacités d'adsorption des solutés organiques sont d'autant plus élevées que le potentiel zéta des particules de charbon est positif. Cet état de la surface du charbon correspond alors à la présence de groupements de surface de type basique et à la disparition des groupes de surface de type acide. Adsorption on activated carbon is an attractive method of removal of organic compounds as micropollutants from natural waters and wastewaters. The physico-chemical nature of the surface of carbon is an important factor in the adsorption process and should be considered in selection or preparation of activated carbon for specific adsorption. The purpose of the present study is to quantify the effect of PAC, heat treated PAC(T), acid treated PAC (OC) of powder activated carbon (PAC < 50 μm; Chemviron F400) and to compare the removal of organic compounds (humic acids, phenol, phtalic acid, salicylic acid, benzoic acid, atrazine, sodium dodecyl sulphate). Mechanism of the adsorption will be discussed on the basis of the results: adsorption capacities zeta potential of particles and physical characteristics of PAC." @default.
