The 12-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) leg module ofthe platform, SURALP-L, is completed. The actuation isbased on DC motors, belt and pulley systems andHarmonic Drive reduction gears. The sensory equipmentconsists of joint encoders and force/torque sensors. Thecontrol hardware is centered on a dSpace digital signalprocessor. This paper develops a smooth walkingtrajectory generation system and a walking controlmethod based on force feedback. The control methodfeatures a ground impact compensator, an early landingtrajectory modification system, controllers for the footorientation, and independent joint position controllers.Experimental walking results with the leg module arepresented." @default.
