Os resultados obtidos mostraram que a zeolita H-Beta possui conversao de isoamilenos, rendimento e seletividade a TAME comparaveis a da resina Amberlyst 15 e muito superiores as demais zeolitas estudadas, nas condicoes de reacao ora empregadas. Aparentemente, as especies de alumina extra-rede (ALER) altamente dispersas presentes na H-Beta interagem com alguns sitios acidos de Bronsted da rede, fazendo com que estes tenham a sua forca acida aumentada. Isto, juntamente com a adsorcao preferencial de metanol, que solvata o proton formando grandes “clusters” de moleculas de metanol, conduzem a maior atividade observada para a sintese do TAME sobre a H-Beta, quando comparada as outras zeolitas estudadas.
