- W1542280334 abstract "Motivation has a big role in reading. If it is present there is a big possibility that children will become readers for life and they will also enjoy reading. If the motivation is not present reading can become a night mare and cause a lot of stress and it is only necessary evil which has to be done in school. Beside school, teachers and friends a big role in motivation for reading play parents.Diploma is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. In theoretical part I defined reading capability, motivation for reading (internal and external), reading, parent's role and motivation and recommendations for reading, readers and their development. In empirical part I used survey questionnaire for parents. Sample represent parents of children from Rovte school and parents of children from Vrhnika and Logatec. Interest for reading with a child in 4th and 5th grade is still present. Parents also think that reading is important. They spend spare time for reading with child. There is not a lot of parents who do not have time for reading or they say that their child can read on his own and does not need parent to read with him. Parents who spend spare time for reading with child usually read in the evening time or time before child goes to bed. The amount of time for evening reading is from one to three times or more than three times a week. School still encourages reading with children in half cases. Parent's opinions of how important the home environment influence on reading is are different. Most of them think that they are aware of home environment influence but others' opinion is that they are not enough aware of this influence." @default.
