- W1547128218 abstract "Arbitrators recognize the value of an EAP's involvement with Last Chance Contracts and believe this tool provides employees with the best chance of successfully maintaining their employment. The purpose of this study is to examine the benefits of mandatory EAP participation based on employees' post-treatment data While EAPs have proven their ability to reduce employees' utilization of health benefits and to reduce absenteeism, the question has remained regarding the benefits of mandatory EAP participation. This study was conducted in cooperation with an EAP at a steel manufacturing corporation located in the northeastern part of the United States. One hundred seventy-seven employees were selected for this study during a fifteen year period. Statistically significant differences were found during the 13 to 25 month period following the effective date of the LCC between the LCC EAP participant and non-participant groups in the areas of absenteeism. S&A days, and S&A costs." @default.
