- W1547836951 abstract "Organocatalysis combined with metal catalysis has been shown to be a robust concept allowing the discovery of new enantioselective transformations. Cooperative catalysis, that is, the activation of both nucleo- and electrophile by two separate and distinct catalysts, has enabled many unprecedented highly stereoselective reactions. Chiral Brønsted acids, especially chiral phosphoric acids derived from BINOL, have been demonstrated to be privileged catalysts enabling a diverse range of enantioselective transformations. More recently, the combination of Brønsted acids and transition metal complexes has been recognized as a new concept for the creation of unprecedented enantioselective reactions that could not be realized by either of the two catalysts alone. In this chapter, we summarize the recent advances in this research area." @default.
