A case study is presented by examining the program by conducting in-depth interviews and reviewing documentary materials. The major results were as follows: By considering the contribution of medals and meeting athlete's needs, UK Sport launched the Performance Lifestyle Program, which was aimed to support career development for British athletes. The English Institute of Sport designed the program, which consisted of promoting programs, such as Lifestyle Support, Employment and Career Advice, and Education Guidance. Meanwhile, preparations for hosting of the London 2012 Olympic Games intensified the implementation of supporting athlete's career development through budgetary increases and service expansion, as well as other needs. This study concluded that implementation of Performance Lifestyle Program had three major implications: athletes were more ＂focused＂ while training and competing; coaches were observed to display ＂ambivalent＂ attitude toward balance between athlete's sports performance and preparation of future career; National Sports Federations behaved ＂passively＂ in response to implementation of the program." @default.
