- W1551882597 abstract "The present study was to investigate the effects of exercise intensity on visfatin, insulin, glucose, and HOMA-IR in obese and non-obese men. Nineteen adult male carried out this experiment. The subjects were divided into two groups; obese group(29.8±5.1% body fat, n=10) and non-obese group(16.1±1.9% body fat, n=9). All volunteers performed two trials of one-bout continuous exercise until they were consumed the 400kcal at intensities of 40 and 80% VO₂max. Venous blood samples were collected at the rest and immediately after each exercise trials, and recovery period, which were used for the assessments of visfatin, insulin, and glucose. In the obese group, there were significant interactive and/or main effects between exercise intensity(I) and time(T) in visfatin(I×T; p<.001), insulin(T; p<.001), and HOMA-IR(T; p<.01). On the other hand, in the non-obese group, the interactive and/or main effects between I and T were analysed in glucose(I×T; p<.05), visfatin(T; p<.01), insulin(T; p<.001), and HOMA-IR(T; p<.001). In conclusion, aerobic exercise affect significant changes of visfatin, insulin, glucose, and HOMA-IR. Especially, aerobic exercise of comparatively high-intensity may play an important role in improvement of visfatin and insulin resistance." @default.
