- W1553585198 abstract "Abstract Double‐curved composite parts can be obtained by the forming of an initially flat fibrous reinforcement. Because the preform is made of fibers, the deformation mechanisms during the forming are specific. The objectives of analyses and simulations of the forming process are both to determine the conditions that will make the forming possible without defect and to know the position of the fibers after forming. Textile reinforcement can be modeled at different scales. In this article, hypoelastic and a hyperelastic approaches at the macroscopic scale are presented. Then a mesoscopic approach based on a simplified description of the woven unit cell is used for forming simulations. Finally, the semi‐discrete approach that can be seen as intermediate between continuous and mesoscopic approaches is presented." @default.
