- W1554997544 abstract "The thesis discusses the fairy tale as a means for developing social skills with pupils in an adapted education program with a lower education standard. The learning of social skills has an important role in securing their quality life, since these hard-to-learn contents influence the quality of personal relationships, the self-image, conflict resolution and the success of identifying and meeting one’s needs. In the theoretic part, the characteristics of persons with minor disturbances in mental development, their education, recommendations for social skill learning, the areas of social learning, a short modern fairy tale, the importance of fairy tales for children and recommendations for their relation are described. What is more, the curriculum for a special pedagogical activity Social learning used in the grades 1 to 6 was studied. The general and operative goals of the curriculum were divided in four categories: feelings, self-image, conflict resolution and encouraging tolerance and a sense of group belonging. The goals were analyzed and upgraded. A list of appropriate fairy tales is suggested for each of four categories. Various types of activities for the categories are derived from three fairy tales. Moreover, the connections between subjects are defined, since these are an important element of effective social learning besides linking with life experience and hidden curriculum. It is presented how the chosen areas of social learning could be linked with all basic educative and pedagogical subjects and various types of activities – cooperative games, art, music and movement activities, conversation, dramatization, multisensory learning and adapted social games. With help of educative goal taxonomies the levels of operative aims in activities were analyzed. The opinion about the applicability of the material gathered for social skill development in practice was acquired by a questionnaire filled out by two teachers." @default.
