However, USA is now the country which, having overtaken the UK and Canada in the 1970s, still absorbs the largest number of educated and professionally qualified personnel emigrat ing from India, despite the emergence of newer and greener non-tradi tional pastures abroad such as Singapore and Japan, for example.
