• W1557251505 abstract "Neben dem Betrieb und der Erhaltung des vorhandenen Strassennetzes spielen der Neu- und Ausbau von Strassen sowie deren Finanzierung in Deutschland weiterhin eine gewichtige Rolle. Mit dem neuen Bedarfsplan fuer die Bundesfernstrassen aus dem Jahr 2004 sind auch die entscheidenden Weichen fuer den Weiterbau und die kuenftige Ausrichtung der Bundesautobahnen gestellt worden. Gleichzeitig ist zwischen 2001 und 2004 das langjaehrig geplante Bundesautobahnnetz mit einer grossen Anzahl an Gesamtfertigstellungen, Lueckenschluessen und ingenieurtechnischen Grossbauwerken noch staerker als zuvor seiner Vollendung entgegen gegangen. Die durchschnittliche Netzverlaengerung ist erneut angestiegen und betraegt derzeit rund 110 Kilometer pro Jahr. Im Berichtszeitraum ist in Deutschland der 12.000ste Kilometer Bundesautobahn dem Verkehr uebergeben worden; ueber 500 Kilometer Autobahnen befinden sich aktuell in Bau. Rechtzeitig zum Event der Fussball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 in Deutschland werden weitere wichtige BAB-Neubaustrecken durchgehend dem Verkehr zur Verfuegung stehen. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: Apart from the service and maintenance of the current road network, new construction and upgrading projects including their financing are playing an important role in Germany. With the new requirement plan for the federal trunk roads from 2004 the course was also set for further construction of German motorways and their orientation in future. Between 2001 and 2004 the federal motorway network, which was projected long standing, approached even more to completion through the considerable amount of finally gap closings and a great number of new engineering buildings. The average growing of the motorway network increased again and consists of now approximately 110 new motorway kilometers each year. In the years under review the 12,000th kilometer of the national motorway network was opened to traffic in Germany; more than 500 kilometers of motorways are under construction at present. Accurately timed to the event of the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 even further important new motorways will be completely introduced to traffic.
