The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale was applied to the mothers while Depression Scale for Children and Continuous Anxiety Inventory Children were applied to children. Results: The frequency of the mothers of asthmatic and diabetic children having the depression and anxiety scores over 7 and 10 was higher than those of upper respiratory infection and healthy ones. The depression and anxiety levels in asthmati children were also higher than those in healthy ones (p=0,001, p=0,001). Conclusion: The study indicated that depression and anxiety levels in the asthmatic children and their mothers were elevated and hence they need psycologic support to overcome these problems.
