- W1562991186 abstract "Abstract The electrosorption and inhibition behaviour of the following homologous phosphonium bromides: [(C 6 H 5 ) 3 P·R]Br R=C 2 H 5 ; C 3 H 7 ;n-C 4 H 9 ;i-C 4 H 9 has been studied using phase selective polarography, electrocapillary curves and dc polarographic i-t and i-E curves. The measurements were carried out in ethanol/water solutions of the following ethanol/water volume ratios: 96/4, 80/20, 60/40 and 20/80 and LiClO 4 as supporting electrolyte. The γ- E curves show that the interfacial tension is greatly lowered at potentials less or more negative than the ecm. The maximum surface excess is also strongly potential dependent. the C-E curves showed only one potential range of maximum adsorption. With increase of the ethanol content the potential range of maximum adsorption becomes smaller. The adsorption/desorption maxima at very negative potentials showed a different shape as a function of the ethanol concentration. The investigations of the inhibition of Cd 2+ discharge in the presence of the inhibitors showed that the retardation of the electrode process could be obtained only if the ethanol contents was i-t curves as well as the rate constants shows that the retardation of Cd 2+ discharge is dependent on the alcohol content of the mixture. The results of the γ- E , C-E , i-E and i-t curves in aqueous solution (Part I) and in ethanol/water solutions will be compared and analysed." @default.
