The reason for writing in English nowadays is pretty clear: the range of people you can communicate with is wider and richer, and it possibly includes the range of people you can communicate with in another natural language (like Portuguese). Despite the political factors that led to the ‘universalization’ of English, this is a fact, and if we want to make a critical analysis of such factors our voices will be better echoed in English!
