- W1567573794 abstract "Single-incision slings (SISs) are an emerging generation of slings based upon the retropubic and transobturator platform of efficacy and ease of use. Through a single vaginal incision, placement of SISs can be performed in the retropubic and transobturator trajectory. SISs were designed to potentially prevent mesh transversing major muscles, reduce risk of organ injury, and reduce procedure time. Additionally SISs aim to provide an improved patient experience with no external incisions, minimize postoperative pain, and fundamentally the possibility of performing the technique under local anesthesia on an ambulatory basis. These new SISs constitute an additional tool for the management of stress incontinence. This chapter discusses the most popular SISs, highlighting key differences in design and surgical technique, as well as available outcomes data." @default.
