- W1567996695 abstract "This chapter focuses on the recent experimental investigations of the electromagnetic (EM) mechanism. It provides an outline of the EM mechanism of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). It investigates the evidence of twofold EM enhancement as NP aggregate-to-aggregate variations in anti-Stokes and Stokes SERS spectra by comparing SERS spectra and plasmon resonance spectra from single Ag NP aggregates. By investigating the selective enhancement of SERS bands whose maxima were close to the plasmon resonance maxima, the authors found that variations in the SERS spectra are induced by the second enhancement in the SERS process. The refractive index dependence of SERS spectra is examined in the chapter by comparing SERS spectra with plasmon resonance spectra from single Ag nanoparticle (NP) aggregates. The chapter analyzes fluctuation in SERS and surface-enhanced fluorescence (SEF) in terms of intensity and spectral fluctuation using a system composed of Ag NP dimer and R6G molecules." @default.
