Forschungsaktivitaten und Programme zur Forderung von sozialer Integration setzen bislang uberwiegend parallel zueinander bei einzelnen Dimensionen sozialer Vielfalt an, herausragende Bedeutung erhalt dabei nach wie vor die Gender-Perspektive. Der Beitrag beleuchtet aus dem Blickwinkel der sportbezogenen Geschlechterforschung das mogliche Verhaltnis von Gender und weiteren Kategorien sozialer Vielfalt. Im Fokus stehen hierbei zum einen die Entwicklungen der sportwissenschaftlichen Gender- und Ungleichheitsforschung und moglicher Ertrage des Diversity-bezogenen Forschungsansatzes der Intersektionalitat. Darauf aufbauend werden bisherige sportpolitische Masnahmen des organisierten Sports zum Gender Mainstreaming und zur sozialen Integration in den Blick genommen und die Vor- und Nachteile des Ansatzes von Diversity Management im Sport diskutiert. Summary Within the social sciences the discourse on scientific and political approaches having an integrative view on social diversity has been quite established over the past years, whereas this is not the case for the field of sport. Sports sciences, as well as organized sports investigations of social inequality and activities against discrimination, mostly focus on single social dimensions, with strong emphasis on the gender-perspective. Therefore, the paper discusses the relation of gender and other social categories within the context of sport. On the one hand, it will consider the possible proceeds of intersectional approaches within the sports sciences. On the other hand, it reflects the relation of the strategy Gender Mainstreaming and the concept of Diversity Management within organized sport, and highlights possible conflicts as well as possibilities to combine these instruments.
