- W1570402899 abstract "The nonequilibrium Green's function technique according to Keldysh is used to study the nonlinear response of excitonic systems in direct semiconductors on an externally driven coherent light field. The concept of partial coherence is introduced to separate the initially excited coherent particles from the relaxed incoherent ones. It allows to formulate an equation for the particle propagator of incoherent particles and an equation for the coherent particle amplitude both coupled by the self-energy. For the exciton-phonon system we show in detail, starting with equations for the nonequilibrium propagators, how to obtain a diffusion equation of incoherent excitons and a “Schrödinger-like” equation for the exciton amplitude. As a main result the particle source in the diffusion equation becomes proportional to the density of coherent excitons. Furthermore, we extend existing theories for the exciton-biexciton system taking into account the accumulation of incoherent particles due to the phonon-mediated relaxation of coherent amplitudes." @default.
