During that period 106,374 patients were admitted to the hospital, and of that number 1298, or 1.2 per cent were considered to have lobar pneumonia. Only those cases were included which represented unquestionably typical lobar pneumonia after critical evaluation of clinical records, radiographic findings and postmortem records. Roentgenograms were made in 40 per cent of the cases in this series, while necropsies were performed on 37 per cent of those patients dying of...Bibliography1.
