- W1582201491 abstract "High-quality superconducting (${T}_{c}ensuremath{approx}90mathrm{K},$ ${j}_{c}>{10}^{6}{mathrm{A}/mathrm{c}mathrm{m}}^{2}$ at 77 K) epitaxial (001) ${mathrm{YBa}}_{2}{mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{mathrm{O}}_{7mathrm{ensuremath{-}}mathrm{ensuremath{delta}}}$ films were grown by laser ablation on (001) ${mathrm{CeO}}_{2}/(11̱02)$ ${mathrm{Al}}_{2}{mathrm{O}}_{3}.$ An interaction between ${mathrm{YBa}}_{2}{mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{mathrm{O}}_{7mathrm{ensuremath{-}}mathrm{ensuremath{delta}}}$ and ${mathrm{CeO}}_{2}$ would influence the structure and the superconducting parameters. A marked degradation of the superconducting transition temperature ${(T}_{c}=74mathrm{K})$ was observed when twenty 2-nm-thick ${mathrm{CeO}}_{2}$ layers were inserted equidistantly into a (001) ${mathrm{YBa}}_{2}{mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{mathrm{O}}_{7mathrm{ensuremath{-}}mathrm{ensuremath{delta}}}$ film (200 nm). ${mathrm{BaCeO}}_{3}$ crystalline inclusions were detected by x-ray diffraction. X-ray-absorption fine-structure investigations at the Cu-$K$ edge indicate that Ce substitutes for Y in ${mathrm{YBa}}_{2}{mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{mathrm{O}}_{7mathrm{ensuremath{-}}mathrm{ensuremath{delta}}}.$ Near-edge x-ray-absorption studies indicate that the valence of Ce incorporated into the ${mathrm{YBa}}_{2}{mathrm{Cu}}_{3}{mathrm{O}}_{7mathrm{ensuremath{-}}mathrm{ensuremath{delta}}}$ regions of the multilayer structure is also $+4.$" @default.
