- W158458836 abstract "As they are naturally propagated throughout development, stem cells provide the ideal platform for de novo tissue formation and regenerative approaches. Novel methodologies involving the replacement of the damaged tissue with stem-cell derived preparations are emerging as feasible alternatives to transplant medicine, which remains an option for a limited number of cases. Obviously, the opportunity of storing stem cells into biobanks offers the unique opportunity of having them rapidly available for therapeutic use. In this scenario, the quality of the stem cell product plays an unquestionable role for appropriate clinical application. Stem cell biobanks are extremely versatile institutions in which the banking organization goes at the same pace of scientific knowledge, which fuels its development. If a strong and sound research background should constitute the roots of the banking institution, the use of the final product for therapeutic application relies on clean room management. The opportunity of having all these modules available easily closes the circle, which produces a mutual return of investment. In this vision we would like to briefly present our working model, which was developed by having in mind the whole path from biologics to banking to therapeutic application in patient transplants." @default.
