- W1588051885 abstract "A tire and a vehicle suspension affect largely on a vehicle ride. Road irregularities excite the tire tread; the resulted tread vibration is transmitted to a sidewall, a rim and a vehicle axle in order. Consequently, the vibration input to the vehicle axle is transmitted to a suspension, a car chassis and driver뭩seat where a driver judges whether the car is silent and comfortable or not. The vehicle vibration transmission, generally, can be divided as a contribution of both a tire sensitivity and a vehicle sensitivity. In order to find out an effective way to reduce the vibration transmission to the driver뭩seat, this study observes the vibration transmission from the viewpoint of the modal contribution. As a result, tire modes that give large contribution to vibration responses at each predefined positions of the vehicle are identified. Those are an in-plain radial bending, an out-of-plane radial bending and an in-plain radial quadratic. In addition, the study presents the variations due to the tire design and vehicle size change. Varying tire design parameters has little effect on the low frequency response from 0 to 50 ㎐, at the seat position of the vehicle, but on the other hand, it shows a significant difference in the range from 50 to 200㎐. A 2000cc vehicle takes advantage of road noise in comparison with a 1300cc vehicle because the frequency responses of the 2000cc vehicle, from 100 to 150㎐, are lower than that of the 1300cc vehicle." @default.
