- W1591001229 abstract "Information technology (IT) has become one of the core elements in the improvement of organizational performance. A significant number of government organizations are embracing electronic government (egovernment) as a mean to improve public service. However, numerous factors have been recognized as potential barriers to e-government initiatives. The use of IT to enhance internal communication and external communication has been regarded as a significant factor in the achievement of e-government success. The main purpose of this research is to assess whether the use of IT for communication affects how e-government barriers are perceived. We devised an instrument and conducted an empirical study with a municipal government. We used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to evaluate our model. The results of the study empirically validate the instruments, and provide support for the relationship between e-government barriers and the use of IT for communication." @default.
