The main goal in effectively modeling energy power generation systems are reasonable execution times together with a general applicability to any power systems achieved by its modular structure. The MIP model is derived from the nonlinear dynamic process by discretization in time and piecewise linear approximation. The most important aspect to yield short execution times are submodels with a small number of integer variables summarized in special ordered sets if possible with a good approach in picturing the reality. The number of system elements to be modeled is more or less unlimited. The matrix generator produces the MPSX data input files out of the given data set of the power generation system, and its preassigned energy resources using the DP implementation of the MIP model. The matrix generator has a modular structure, and each module consists of an input and a checking subroutine, a printing subprogram to produce a review, and of one or more subroutines to generate the input files for the optimization program by applying the mathematical model." @default.
