- W1594557460 abstract "Our understanding of how different types of radiation interact with the basic molecular building blocks that assemble to form the larger macro molecules of life, such as DNA, has advanced significantly in recent years. The important role of previously neglected fundamental collision processes leading to molecular fragmentation (such as dissociative electron attachment) has been highlighted and provided a valuable guide to refining models of radiation damage in both cellular and inorganic materials. However as our knowledge has advanced, fresh questions have been raised and new fields of research have been opened.
