- W1596440015 abstract "textabstractIn the papers presented in this thesis, we have searchedfor parameters of prognostic relevance for PC. In general oursurvey encompasses the study of three putative parameterslinked with the biological behavior of PC.Initially we have examined the reproducibility of fiveconventional histological grading systems currently in use forPC. Histological grading was performed by 5 pathologists withvarying experience in both general pathology and pathologicalaspects of male urogenital oncology. All participants in thestudy received prior to histological grading the originalpapers in which the grading methods were explained. None ofthe grading methods displayed a good interobserver agreementsuch as measured by statistical evaluation. A reasonableinterobserver consensus was reached in the methods basedprimarily on histological (architectural) criteria in simplegrading methods as those designed by Broders and Brawn.Though inconsistent with several reports from the Unitedstates, the complex Gleason system showed only a poorconsensus among the 5 observers." @default.
