- W1600069178 abstract "The tax reform Argentina needs is subject to delay indefinitely. If this country to become a normal country, it must make the necessary changes and eliminate the unproductive tax system prevailing. This way a stage of its fiscal history would be closed coincidentally with the darkest period of decline as a nation, which lasted for thirty years. In the middle of the twentieth century, after having reached a tax structure similar to that of the developed countries, it deteriorated as time went by. This severe fiscal decomposition is considered by the author as the Argentine anomaly in this field: the only case of historic recession among countries to be compared with (those known to be of intermediate development in Latin America). During the analysed period of time a severe situation of social inequity and productive incompetence arose, above all in those activities demanding greater training and technology (and provide greater added value). Overcoming this situation will not be an easy job, as it would be necessary to accumulate a big reformist political-social power (and an efficient international insertion of Argentina into a favourable external stage). Argentine history reveals an inveterate delay as regards reforms not only fiscal which introduces a lot of questions in the present time, when our country seems to lack the necessary time which it used to waste." @default.
