- W1602912008 abstract "We investigate the magnetic penetration depth $ensuremath{lambda}$ in superconducting ${mathrm{Ba}}_{1ensuremath{-}x}{mathrm{K}}_{x}{mathrm{Fe}}_{2}{mathrm{As}}_{2}$ (${T}_{c}ensuremath{simeq}32text{ }text{ }mathrm{K}$) with muon-spin rotation ($ensuremath{mu}mathrm{SR}$) and angle-resolved photoemission (ARPES). Using $ensuremath{mu}mathrm{SR}$, we find the penetration-depth anisotropy ${ensuremath{gamma}}_{ensuremath{lambda}}={ensuremath{lambda}}_{c}/{ensuremath{lambda}}_{ab}$ and the second-critical-field anisotropy ${ensuremath{gamma}}_{{H}_{c2}}$ to show an opposite $T$ evolution below ${T}_{c}$. This dichotomy resembles the situation in the two-gap superconductor ${mathrm{MgB}}_{2}$. A two-gap scenario is also suggested by an inflection point in the in-plane penetration depth ${ensuremath{lambda}}_{ab}$ around 7 K. The complementarity of $ensuremath{mu}mathrm{SR}$ and ARPES allows us to pinpoint the values of the two gaps and to arrive to a remarkable agreement between the two techniques concerning the full $T$ evolution of ${ensuremath{lambda}}_{ab}$. This provides further support for the described scenario and establishes ARPES as a tool to assess macroscopic properties of the superconducting condensate." @default.
