ABSTRACT Ticks, public health and bioterrorism The illnesses with agents transmitted for ticks like as rickettsia, erlichia, babesia, borrelia human beings, as among others, that different cellular types as leukocytes, erythrocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, etc. can parasite, and taking the alterations in some tissue, and/or organ. The clinical signs are variable depending on the severity of the infection, host immune response, the affected organs, and the species of involved tick in the co-infection, and transmission of the microbial agent. Human ixodidosis comes increasing in the Brazilian states, and the illnesses with agents transmitted for ticks had passed without designated. The epidemiological risk that still seems low could be manipulated with bioterrorism intentions. The occurrences of biological war allow alerting for the increasing possibility to strengthen attention of military defense, and the health for this real possibility. Key words: Ticks on human, bacteria, virus, rickettsia transmitted by tick." @default.
