- W1610367395 abstract "Phonon anomalies near the critical temperature are studied in the metallic ferromagnetic oxides ${mathrm{Sr}}_{2}{mathrm{FeCoO}}_{6ensuremath{-}ensuremath{delta}}$ and ${mathrm{SrBaFeCoO}}_{6ensuremath{-}ensuremath{delta}}.$ The partial ${}^{57}mathrm{Fe}$ phonon densities of states (DOS) in these oxides were derived from the resonant nuclear inelastic scattering spectra. The spectra were measured with the energy resolution of 2.5 meV by detecting the 6.3-keV Fe $Kensuremath{alpha}$ x rays ensuing the Mossbauer effect on the ${}^{57}mathrm{Fe}$ transition excited by the monochromatized 14.41-keV synchrotron radiation. The changes in the ${}^{57}mathrm{Fe}$ phonon DOS are observed at cooling across the magnetic ordering temperature ${T}_{c}ensuremath{approx}150mathrm{K}.$ As T is lowered the lowest-energy peak near 14 meV develops and becomes well resolved below ${T}_{c}.$ The lower edge of the main band near 20 meV exhibits a pronounced softening below ${T}_{c}.$ We attribute this softening to modulation of the superexchange interaction by lattice vibrations within models of the formation of spin-polarized bands in these systems." @default.
