- W161978980 abstract "Recently, varied development work on automatic and remote-controlled equipment or apparatus such as robots has been carried out in order to reduce radiation exposures and to save on personnel time in nuclear facilities. A mobile inspection robot has been developed that is capable of moving along the floor, mainly for improving nuclear facility or components inspection during operation. The inspection robot has been developed for use in the primary containment vessel where the environmental conditions are those of relatively high humidity and temperatures (maximum 100%, 70/sup 0/C) and high radiation dose rates (of approx.100 R/h). The inspection robot consists of: a vehicle that moves along the floor with four crawlers; a multijoint arm mechanism for observation sensors; a mutual signal transmission circuit; a cable-handling device; and a computer system for both remote manual and automatic operation." @default.
