O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar uma fonte alternativa de hipofise (Cyphocharax voga) na inducao hormonal de jundia (Rhamdia quelen). Foram induzidos 60 animais (20 femeas e 40 machos), com os seguintes tratamentos: T1 – controle (soro fisiologico), T2 - hipofise de carpa (HBC), T3 - hipofise de voga macho (HBVM) e T4 - hipofise de voga femea (HBVF). Cada unidade experimental foi composta por uma femea e dois machos, com cinco repeticoes por tratamento. Foram obtidas desovas em todos os tratamentos com extratos hipofisarios. No Tratamento 2, 25% das desovas foram por extrusao, 50 % induzida/extrusao e 25% nao desovaram. No Tratamento 3, 80% das desovas foram obtidas atraves de extrusao, e 20% por inducao/extrusao. O Tratamento 4, 20% foi obtido atraves de inducao, e 80% atraves de extrusao. Os resultados demonstram que o extrato obtido atraves da hipofise de voga pode ser utilizado com sucesso na inducao a desova de jundia . ABSTRACT The carp´s hypophysis (Cyprinus carpio) is widely used for induced spawning of many species of fishes, despite the difficulty to obtain and the its high cost. The aim of this work was to assess an alternative source of hypophysis (Cyphocarax voga) in the hormonal induction of jundia (Rhamdia quelen). Sixty animal was induced to spawning (20 females and 40 males) with the following treatments: T1 – control group (physiologic sorum), T2 – carp hipophysis (HBC), T3 - male voga hipophysis (HBVM) and T4 – female voga hipophysis (HBVF). Each experimental unit comprised 1 female and 2 males and five replications per treatment. Spawning was obtained in all treatments with hipophysis. In T2 (carp hypophysis), 25% of ovocytes was obtained by induced spawing, 50% by induced spawning and extrusion, and 25% did not spawn by neither process. In females induced by T3 (HBVM), 80% liberated ovocytes by extrusion and 20% by induced spawning and extrusion. In females induced by T4 (HBVF), 20% liberated ovocytes by induced spawning and 80% liberated ovocytes by the extrusion method. Voga hypophyisis as hormonal inductor in jundia (Rhamdia quelen) shows good results, demonstrating and may be a successful induced spawning.
