To evaluate the relationship between preoperative erectile function and postoperative success, we reviewed 25 consecutive patients with Peyronie’s disease who underwent surgery and evaluation with dynamic infusion cavernosometry and caver-nosography preoperatively. Overall results of dynamic infusion cavernosometry and cavernosography revealed corporeal veno-occlusive dysfunction in 76% of the patients and inadequate arterial inflow parameters in 44%. Among 20 patients treated with plaque excision and dermal graft inlay, adequate postoperative erectile function for satisfactory intercourse occurred in 4 of 4 (100%) with an equilibrium accumulated intracorporeal pressure of greater than or equal to 70 mm. Hg, 9 of 12 (75%) with an equilibrium accumulated intracorporeal pressure of 40 to 65 mm. Hg and 1 of 4 (25%) with an equilibrium accumulated intracorporeal pressure of less than 35 mm. Hg. These data may be helpful to counsel patients before surgical therapy, and may explain some of the disparate results previously reported after plaque excision and dermal graft inlay on the basis of patient selection. © 1993 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byDeveci S, Palese M, Parker M, Guhring P and Mulhall J (2018) Erectile Function Profiles in Men With Peyronie’s DiseaseJournal of Urology, VOL. 175, NO. 5, (1807-1811), Online publication date: 1-May-2006.USTA M, BIVALACQUA T, TOKATLI Z, RIVERA F, GULKESEN K, SIKKA S and HELLSTROM W (2018) STRATIFICATION OF PENILE VASCULAR PATHOLOGIES IN PATIENTS WITH PEYRONIE’S DISEASE AND IN MEN WITH ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION ACCORDING TO AGE: A COMPARATIVE STUDYJournal of Urology, VOL. 172, NO. 1, (259-262), Online publication date: 1-Jul-2004.GHOLAMI S, GONZALEZ-CADAVID N, LIN C, RAJFER J and LUE T (2018) Peyronie’s Disease: A ReviewJournal of Urology, VOL. 169, NO. 4, (1234-1241), Online publication date: 1-Apr-2003.HAUCK E, BSCHLEIPFER T, DIEMER T, MANNING M, SCHROEDER-PRINTZEN I and WEIDNER W (2018) Long-Term Results of Plaque Thinning with Carbide Burs, Small Incisions and Venous Grafting for Correcting Complex Penile Curvature in Peyronie’s Disease: Poor Results of an “Ideal” ApproachJournal of Urology, VOL. 167, NO. 5, (2070-2073), Online publication date: 1-May-2002.MONTORSI F, SALONIA A, MAGA T, COLOMBO R, CESTARI A, GUAZZONI G and RIGATTI P (2018) RECONFIGURATION OF THE SEVERELY FIBROTIC PENIS WITH A PENILE IMPLANTJournal of Urology, VOL. 166, NO. 5, (1782-1786), Online publication date: 1-Nov-2001.YURKANIN J, DEAN R and WESSELLS H (2018) EFFECT OF INCISION AND SAPHENOUS VEIN GRAFTING FOR PEYRONIE’S DISEASE ON PENILE LENGTH AND SEXUAL SATISFACTIONJournal of Urology, VOL. 166, NO. 5, (1769-1773), Online publication date: 1-Nov-2001.DAITCH J, ANGERMEIER K and MONTAGUE D (2018) MODIFIED CORPOROPLASTY FOR PENILE CURVATURE: LONG-TERM RESULTS AND PATIENT SATISFACTIONJournal of Urology, VOL. 162, NO. 6, (2006-2009), Online publication date: 1-Dec-1999.EL-SAKKA A, RASHWAN H and LUE T (2018) VENOUS PATCH GRAFT FOR PEYRONIE'S DISEASE.
