The selection of materialproperties and boundary conditions for modelling the engine rack prototype wasundertaken prior to comparing the FE model with the set of obtained experimentaldata.Simulated environmental conditions were used to predict the response of the rack interms of engine displacement at the points of contact with the rack and the energytransfer to the engine due to a parameterised shock.The measurements, theoretical analysis and simulation studies described in thisproject illustrate a general procedure that may be used to evaluate new enginepackaging system designs or modifications to existing design." @default.
