- W1658925087 abstract "Objective To study the predictive value immediate serum glucose(SG) level on admission hospitalized mortality in acute myocardial infarction(AMI) after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). Methods A total of 456 non-diabetics AMI patients after PCI, male 319, female 137, aged 29 - 85 years, mean aged 61.30 years, were divided into 3 groups according to SG levels on admission:Group A, SG 7.8 mmol/L, n = 248; Group B, 7.8 mmol/L ≤ SG ≤ 11.1 mmol/L, n = 156; Group C, SG 11.1 mmol/ L, n = 52. The incidence of cardiac failure, arrhythmia, cardiac death, reinfarction, post-infarctional angina pectoris and major adverse cardiac events(MACE) among 3 groups were compared. Results There were no significant differences(P 0.05) among 3 groups in age, sex, family history of coronary artery disease, history of smoking, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, lesion of anterior descending branch and right coronary arteries, multiple coronary artery disease, post-infarctional angina pectoris and chest pain period from onset to PCI; Compared with group A and B, there were significant differences in Killip’s ≥ 2,more than one position MI and white blood cell counts in group C(P 0.05); Re-MI was higher in group C than that in group A(P 0.05). Malignant arrhythmia were higher in group B and C than that in group A(P 0.05); In hospitalized mortality and incidence of MACE were significantly higher in group C, compared with group A and B (13.7 % vs 4.5 % vs 1.6 % in mortality, 46.2 % vs 34.0 % vs 19.0 % in MACE,P 0.001).Conclusion It is demonstrated that there is higher hospitalized mortality and occurrence rate of total cardio-vascular events in AMI patients with elevated immediate admission SG level after treating by emergency PCI. Thus the immediate admission hyperglycemia in AMI patients may predict poor prognosis." @default.
