- W168114387 abstract "This work deals with the processing of a new diamond composite, its wear mechanism analysis, and evaluation of the possibility of its future use in abrasive crowns for polishing dimension stones. In this experimental route, diamond and bakelite powders were blended together in three stoichiometries and then sintered at 250oC for seven minutes, under a pressure of 28.3MPa. The composites were submitted to polishing intermediate scale tests, where it was studied the diamond composites' wear as well as the surface quality obtained, by granite surface roughness measurements. The microstructure of the composites and granite surfaces after the polishing tests was also studied. It was possible to analyze the technical viability of this new composite in abrasive crowns, based on the processed composites wear and surface quality results comparing to those of the commercial abrasive crowns." @default.
