- W171859097 abstract "Stress is a state of psychological disequilibria arising from different physical and social events of life work, academic pursuit, activities of daily living among others. Manis responses to a particular stressful situation makes individual to change or disrupt his or her psychological conditions, such that the personis, mind and body are forced to deviate from normal functioning. The study therefore, investigated the influences of workload, promotion and remuneration on stress among academic staff of University of Ibadan can manage and cope with stress. The population for the study were academic staff of the University of Ibadan, with a sample size of 580 respondents, using the simple random sampling technique. The main instrument used for the study was a self developed, structured and validated questionnaire. The non-parametric statistics of Chi-square (X2) was used to analyse the data and hypotheses were tested at 0.05 alpha level. Finally, conclusion was made, and recommendations were proffered on how to manage and cope with stress among academic staff of University of Ibadan." @default.
