- W1782006061 abstract "Date seeds were found to be as effective adsorbents as activated carbon for the removal of organics from slaughterhouse wastewater. Experiments were successfully employed to attain the maximum amount of COD adsorption. The maximum adsorption capacity were 53 and 60 mg/g for date seeds and activated carbon, respectively. In view of the stringent water quality requirements, adsorption using date seeds may offer an important tertiary treatment step. This adsorption process removes substantial amounts of organics and thus promotes effective disinfection as well as acceptable reclaimed water." @default.
