- W1799946988 abstract "Resumen: Se presentan los resultados principales de la modelizacion hidrologica de la cuenca del rio Lonquen, de regimen intermitente, ubicada en el norte de la VIII region (Bio-Bio) de Chile, que se llevo a cabo con el fin de cuantificar la oferta hidrica de la cuenca en el contexto de la planificacion de un embalse para riego que abasteceria alrededor de 2315 has. El protocolo de modelizacion que se empleo es de tipo deterministico/estocastico, en base a simulaciones Monte Carlo, considerando un modelo agregado basado en el codigo WaterEvaluation And PlanningSystem (WEAP). El estudio revelo la presencia de equifinalidad ya que no se pudo identificar un unico juego optimo de parametros para el modelo numerico de la cuenca de estudio. El estudio revelo ademas que la mayoria de los parametros analizados son insensibles a las predicciones numericas del modelo y que los limites de prediccion asociados al modelo pueden catalogarse como aceptables aunque existen periodos de simulacion con limites de prediccion holgados, en particular donde acontecen caudales practicamente nulos (lo cual da el caracter de intermitente al rio estudiado). En cualquier caso,y en un contexto global, la calidad del presente modelo hidrologico parece bastante prometedora. Abstract: It is presented herein the main results of the hydrological modelling of the Lonquen river basin, with an intermittent regime, located in the northern region VIII (Bio-Bio) of Chile, which was conducted with the purpose of quantifying the water capacity of the basin in the context of the planning of an irrigation reservoir that is to irrigate about 2315 hectares. A deterministic / stochastic modelling protocol was used; it is based on Monte Carlo simulations and considers an aggregate model developed on the basis of the Water Evaluation And Planning System (WEAP) code. The study revealed the presence of equifinality since a single optimal parameter set for the numerical model of the study basin could not be identified. The study also revealed that most of the parameters inspected are insensitive to the numerical model predictions and that the prediction limits associated with the model may be categorized as acceptable despite the fact that there are periods of coarse prediction limits, particularly where nearly no-discharge occurs (which makes the hydrological regime of the studied site being intermittent). Nevertheless, in a global context, the quality of the current hydrological model looks quite promising." @default.
