- W1807188097 abstract "This thesis deals with the interventions of Security Council of the United Nations. In addition to this, the project is about the formation of the creation of United Nations. The primary focus is paid to the Security Council and its role in relation to the military interventions during and after the cold war. The content of the analysis is based on the liberalistic and neorealistic approach. I use the liberalistic approach to define the creation of the United Nations. On the contrary I use the neorealistic approach to study and analyze the successes and failures of the Security Councils military actions during and after the cold war. I am going to set up a hypothesis for the purpose of testing if there is a connection between the actions of the SC's permanent members and their hegemonic and security interests. The actions of the SC's permanent members is my depending variable, and I identify the five member states? hegemonic and security interests as my independent variables. I am going to focus on several cases during and after the cold war, in which the Security Council should have played a crucial role in stabilizing the peace and security. The Security Council should have responded to secure peace and settlement in the international system, but there was a lack of military actions according to the United Nation's charter. The hypothesis will be either verified or falsified on the basis of the empirical and statistical data. Key Words: Liberalism, neo-realism, United Nations, Security Council, military interventions." @default.
