En tal sentido, en la periodontitis agresiva, asi como en otras enfermedades infecciosas, es importante conocer el origen de los patogenos y la via de infeccion para planificar el tratamiento y establecer las estrategias de prevencion. Palabras clave:  periodontitis agresiva, microbiologia, clinica. ABSTRACT Periodontal disease covers a range of processes that affect the surrounding tissues that support the teeth. Some individuals are susceptible to develop the disease at early age but a different progression speeds. The classification of different forms of the disease that occur in children, adolescents and young adults, has generated a lot of controversy in the past years. According to epidemiological studies in young patients, particularly, the velocity at which the periodontium is destroyed, often originates the early lost of the teeth involved. In this regard, in aggressive periodontitis, as in other infectious diseases, knowledge of the source of the pathogens and the route of infection is important for planning treatment and prevention strategies .  Key words:  aggressive periodontitis, microbiology, clinical, etiology." @default.
