- W183318537 abstract "Various aspects of the metabolic control exercised in Acinetobacter spp were studied. The effect of different carbon sources on polyphosphate kinase revealed the interdependence of polyphosphate accumulation and the nature of the carbon source. Growth on two different types of carbon sources affects the proteins synthesized by Acinetobacter spp, but does not influence chemical modification of the proteins. The oxidation states of nicotinamide co-enzymes NAD and NADP were shown to control enzymes involved in polyhydroxybutyrate metabolism and normal carbon metabolism. Feedback inhibition by some metabolites was also observed. The significance of these controls in relation to phosphate removal is discussed." @default.
