Criteria for considering studies for this review Types of participants Children, young people and/or families with gastrostomy tubes. Young people are defined as 18 years old and under. Types of interventions educational interventions which can include verbal/written information, teaching packages / tools / methods, video/DVD,simulation Types of outcome measures/anticipated outcomes the primary outcome is the ability to self-care, which will include at least one of these outcomes (either qualitative or quantitative) below: Quantitative • prevention of complications; tube blockage, overgranulation tissue, infection • recognition of complications; signs of peristomal infection, overgranulation tissue, peristomal or tube leakage, signs of feed intoleration (vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation) • management of complications; tube dislodgement, contact with health care professionals, tube blockage, overgranualtion tissue • length of time to discharge • attendance at AEanxiety • apprehension • fear." @default.
