- W18486162 abstract "This chapter discusses monotonic surplus sharing and the utilization of common property resources. It discusses surplus sharing problems akin to axiomatic bargaining. Cooperative opportunities are depicted by a set of feasible utility vectors. An individual rationality (IR) constraint sets a lower bound on every individual utility level. Unlike the traditional Nash model, the surplus sharing problems depend upon an exogenous parameter, affecting both the feasible utility set and the individual rationality constraint. The chapter defines the monotonicity axiom when the set of parameters is partially ordered. It discusses an important special case where the mapping from the resource parameter into the set of feasible utility vectors satisfies a certain lattice homomorphism property. Examples include the models where the resource is a production set. Under the lattice property, the monotonicity and solidarity axioms prove to be equivalent and the existence of a monotonie surplus sharing method is easy to characterize." @default.
