- W1857006512 abstract "This experiment was conducted to determine whether affect and substantive information processing moderate implicit and explicit attitude correspondence. 78 participants completed two implicit attitude measures, the Implicit Association Test (IAT) and the Stereotype Explanation Bias (SEB) and three explicit attitude measures, a temperature scale, a self-report measure and one explicit question. Affect and information processing was manipulated by four different instructions. It was hypothesized that the implicit and explicit attitude correspondence would significant differ from the others in the substantive processing of an affective attitude object. No support was found for this hypothesis. However a significant relationship was found between IAT and SEB in the direct information processing condition, both for affective and non-affective information. Key words: Implicit attitudes, explicit attitudes, affect, Affect Infusion Model (AIM), Implicit Association Test (IAT), Stereotype Explanation Bias (SEB)" @default.
