- W187054612 abstract "The selection of the best combat response to oil spill in the sea when several alternatives have to be evaluated with different weights for each criterion consist of a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. In this case, the selection of the best combat strategies necessarily involves a process of a multi-criteria decision making. In this work, the application of TOPSIS (Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is described. Next, its expansion known as fuzzy TOPSIS to handle uncertain data is presented. TOPSIS and fuzzy TOPSIS are applied to evaluate the performance of the response alternatives to a hypothetical oil spill, whereas the criteria considered are the collected oil and oil that reaches the coast. The case study was carried out for the south coast of the State of Espirito Santo, Brazil, where the Jubarte oil field is located. Simulation results show the feasibility of fuzzy TOPSIS to find out the best combat response." @default.
