- W1878050937 abstract "Ankistrodesmus gracilis and Scenedesmus quadricauda Chlorophyceae were used as algae food for the cladoceran species Daphnia laevis and Moina micrura . The cultures of cladocerans were maintained in acclimatized room. The mean length of Daphnia laevis neonate was 0,62mm and the adults of this species reached 1,50mm on the average with the Ankistrodesmus and 1,06mm for Scenedesmus diet. Neonates of Moina micrura had an average length of 0,52mm and the adults reached 0,98mm and 0,97mm for Ankistrodesmus and Scenedesmus respectively. Nevertheless Moina presented shorter time for egg production. Both cladocerans exhibited higher lipid index when A. gracilis was offered. Therefore, this study indicates this last algae as a better food resource for both species" @default.
